This interactive 2-hour workshop is designed to teach you practical skills on how effective and inclusive the recruitment process is, what is your recruitment strategy and on-boarding employees which includes diversity/inclusion. Through case studies, activities and peer-learning, we aim to equip you with practical tools, insights and actionable solutions to take back and implement in your organisation.

- Diversity and Inclusion, the benefits of diverse recruitment and looking at what unconscious bias means in recruitment

Samantha Thorpe
Sam has had an exciting 5 years working at the Growth Company, contributing her skills and passion for fostering growth, helping businesses thrive and individuals excel.
In the capacity as a Workforce Development Specialist, we play a key part in assisting organisations to cultivate a vibrant and inclusive culture. This involves implementing innovative and diverse approaches to recruiting and onboarding. Beyond the initial phase, our focus shifts to retaining these talented individuals by establishing effective tools for learning and development. We also emphasise the importance of a structured framework that encourages positive communication and feedback between management and employees. The goal is to foster an environment that promotes excellent performance and job satisfaction across the board.
Sam has previously worked for colleges and training providers, helping individuals and businesses to upskill, grow and nurture talent to enhance the workforce.
Dee Garner
Dee has been an integral part of The Growth Company for four years, specialising in supporting businesses across Greater Manchester to achieve their growth ambitions, particularly in recruitment. As a Workforce Development Specialist, she has worked closely with businesses to design and implement effective strategies for attracting, recruiting, and onboarding the right talent to drive growth. Beyond recruitment, Dee focuses on the broader development of workplace skills, identifying skills gaps, enhancing performance management, and developing comprehensive people strategies to support long-term business success.
Prior to joining The Growth Company, Dee built an impressive eight-year career in HR, spanning three organisations where she supported over 500 colleagues. Her experience includes delivering tailored HR solutions and fostering a people-first approach to achieving organisational goals. Dee’s dedication to empowering businesses and their workforces has been a cornerstone of her professional journey.
