Hi, I’m Jordan, I work as a Junior Product Owner, promoting and managing the GM Skills Map. I attended a GMCA funded Skills Bootcamp in content creation and marketing in September 2023 and was able to secure a position at the GM Business Growth Hub in March.
I have been involved with the GM Skills Map from its re-launch in June and it has been an incredible first few months, already transforming the skills landscape across Greater Manchester. In just a few short months, the platform has connected over 600 eager learners with trusted training providers, helping individuals and businesses alike unlock new opportunities for growth and development.
My role involves promoting the GM Skills Map to local councils and businesses in Greater Manchester where I’ve attended in-person events, exhibitions and online stakeholder meetings to introduce the platform and showcase the benefits. The response has been really fantastic and each borough can see the value in GM Skills map and how it is supporting local businesses to improve their staff capabilities.
Since completing the Skills Bootcamp, I have become an advocate for fully-funded training. I believe that there is so much value in fully-funded training and how it can help people to progress in their career. My role developing and promoting GM Skills Map has given me a platform to be able to demonstrate this passion and raise awareness of the great fully-funded opportunities that are available to Greater Manchester businesses and their employees. One of my highlights has been applying my digital marketing skills to assist with the creation of the GM Skills Map video content, to enable the platforms benefits to be promoted to all audiences in a memorable and accessible way.
